Sharjah Art Foundation is hosting 4 more workshops inspired by the ongoing exhibition this month. These workshops will help enhance you and your children’s creative expression!
Charcoal Still Life Drawings
Participants in this workshop will learn how to draw with charcoal. They will learn how to show contrast between elements and the direction of light and shadow, as well as how to fix the charcoal on their finished work.
The workshop will take place on Saturday, the 18th of June, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sharjah Art Foundation. The languages spoken in this workshop will be English and Arabic.
Children ages 11-15 can join this workshop as well!

Creating Maps
Participants in this workshop will be split into groups to create maps using various mediums. They will take a walk through the art spaces, observing landmarks along the way and collecting objects they find. They will later use the items they collected to create a visual map. At the end of the workshop, the groups will share their findings and learn about the value of mapping.
This workshop will also take place on Saturday, the 18th of June, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will also include both the Arabic and English language.
Children between the ages of 6 to 10 can join this workshop.

Landscape and Nature Paintings
Participants will be taken on a tour of the exhibition Aref El Rayess, where they will see paintings from the artist’s Desert series. They will then paint their own natural landscape paintings. Images of mountains and deserts will be given to participants to recreate as paintings.
This workshop will take place on the next Saturday, the 25th of June, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. This workshop will also be conducted in both English and Arabic.
Children between the ages of 11-15 can join this workshop.

Cyanotype Prints
Participants in this workshop will learn how to make striking cyanotype prints on paper using plastic sea waste to create marine shapes. To create white prints on a Prussian blue background, the cyanotype photographic process employs photosensitive iron salts.
This workshop will also take place on the next Saturday, the 25th of June, between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. It will be conducted in both English and Arabic.
Children aged 6-10 can also join this workshop.
