Screening of the documentary- ‘Their Algeria’
‘Their Alegria’ (2020) is a documentary based on an elderly couple who after 62 years of living together have decided to part ways – their granddaughter, Lina Soualem, a filmmaker goes in search of answers behind this decision.
Repost from Sharjah Art Foundation: Mabrouk and Aïcha migrated from Algeria to the town of Thiers, a small medieval town in the middle of France, in the late 1950s. This intimate family story examines the impact of French colonisation as well as the consequences of immigration and displacement, and a longing for family and the village back home, which they hardly know.

Learn Yonkoma Art At This Workshop
Yonkoma is a Japanese style comic strip (manga) that is usually drawn on one page with 4 squares, telling a story. To learn more about how to create your very own Yonkoma art or just to learn more about the art form, attend this workshop being hosted by Sharjah Youth Organization.
