Expo 2020 Dubai is coming to an end and we’re all so sad about it! These have been an amazing few months so to finish it off, Expo 2020 Dubai has a lot stored for us at their closing ceremony!
Expo 2020 Dubai will close on March 31 with a stunning closing ceremony that will look forward to the future at Al Wasl Plaza, the heart and soul of the region’s first World Expo and the same arena where the unforgettable opening ceremony took place!
With total genomic giant screens across the Expo 2020 Dubai site, including the main stages, Festival Garden, and various country pavilions, global music icons Christina Aguilera, Norah Jones, Yo-Yo Ma and Dj Tiesto will be there filling the night with their beautiful performances! The festivities will continue into the night, with concerts from each artist taking place across the Jubilee Stage and the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre.
At 7 p.m., the young Emirati girl from the opening ceremony will take the audience on another enthralling journey. She has risen, discovered, and deeply connected with people from all over the world for 182 days – the final step before she finally wakes up to her full potential.

Later in the night, Grammy-winning cellist Yo-Yo Ma will perform at Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre beginning at 8.45pm; celebrated Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and pianist Norah Jones will amuse visitors with her own concert on the Jubilee Stage beginning at 9pm; and pop legend Christina Aguilera will present an elongated performance beginning at 10.45pm on the Jubilee Stage. Then to end the night perfectly, DJ Tiesto will be performing all night long from 10:45 pm until 3:00 am when the gates of Expo 2020 Dubai finally closes!
The closing ceremony cast consists of over 400 professionals and volunteers from 56 different countries, with 745 costumes designed for the conclusion of Expo 2020 Dubai. Forty members of a UAE-based children’s choir will perform Ishy Bilady, the UAE’s National Anthem, alongside the all-female Firdaus Orchestra, conducted by Yasmina Sabbah.
The Expo 2020 World String Ensemble, a group of 16 talented international musicians led by maestro Harout Fazlian, will also take the stage, as will talented Italian pianist Eleonora Constantini, who will be familiar to many Expo 2020 Dubai visitors as the performer behind the amazing Flying Piano show at Mission Possible – The Opportunity Pavilion.
The closing ceremony, which will be streamed live on Virtual Expo and Expo TV, will also feature calligraphy poetry in the sky from Emirati poetess Ousha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi; the falcon from the immersive theatrical show Journey of the 50th, which was presented during the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations; and the incredible horse from The Boy and The Horse, a tribute to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, V.
