Zahra Lari
Emirati figure skater Zahra Lari. She is the first figure skater from the UAE and the Middle East to compete on an international level. Lari is a five-time Emirati National Champion who has defied the odds to reach the pinnacle of spins, technique, and triple jumps.
Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum
Captain Sheikha Mozah Al Maktoum made her dreams come true by becoming the first female Dubai royal pilot, the UAE’s first female commercial pilot, and the first woman to be appointed First Lieutenant Pilot of the Dubai Police Air Wing!
Amna Al Qubaisi
Amna Al Qubaisi is the first female Emirati race driver. After the Diriyah ePrix in Saudi Arabia on December 16, 2018, she became the first Middle Eastern woman to participate in a Formula E motorsport test program. Plus she’s only 22!
Salama Mohamed
Salama Mohamed has made a contribution to the world of content creation as she proceeds to empower her audience everyday! She has also recently founded a clean skincare brand helping women and others to feel beautiful in their own skin! Let’s not forget the daily content creation she is into with her husband while taking care of her kids!
Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi
Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi is the founder and CEO of the children’s publisher Kalimat Group, as well as the founder and chairperson of the Kalimat Foundation, the Emirates Publishers Association, the UAE Board on Books for Young People, and the President of the International Publishers Association.
She also is a publisher, archaeologist, anthropologist and more! Plus, Sharjah’s ruler, Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, is her father!
Nora Al Matrooshi
Nora Al Matrooshi became the first female Emirati and Arab astronaut on April 10, 2021, putting her on track to become the 66th woman in history to go to space. She was also chosen from over 4,000 candidates to train for future space exploration missions! And just when you thought that was all, she went on to represent the UAE at the UN International Youth Conferences in both 2018 and 2019!
Amna Al Haddad
Look at how powerful she looks! Amna al Haddad has challenged stereotypes by establishing herself as a positive role model for women in this region as an Olympic weightlifter and the first Emirati and Gulf national to compete in Asia’s regionals!
HH Sheikha Latifah Maktoum
An inspiring role model to many! Sheikha Latifah has championed women’s sports in the UAE. She is an equestrian athlete who represented the UAE at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, becoming the first woman to do so!
Nayla Al Khaja
She is the UAE’s first female film director-producer, as well as the CEO of Nayla Al Khaja films. She has directed several films, which have won awards at various international film festivals!
Fatima Al Qubaisi
Fatima Al Qubaisi is the first Emirati woman to receive a law degree from Harvard. She is now a proper lawyer in the UAE, where she continues to advocate and actively support other women in the country!
