Here’s Everything You Need to Know About UAE’s New Visa System

As part of the UAE’s decision to overhaul its entry permits and visa regime, some of the new changes will come into effect starting September 2022!

The new system offers visitors a variety of visa types for different visit purposes without requiring a host or sponsor for the first time. These visas offer flexible durations that meet the needs of the visitors and the purpose of the visit.

These new entry permits will broaden the scope for the expatriates to apply for different kinds of visas to explore the UAE as an attractive tourist destination.

Visit Visa

  • It allows a stay of 60 days as against 30 days earlier.

Multi-entry Tourist Visa

  • No sponsor required
  • Allows the person to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days
  • Option of extending the visa for another 90 days.
  • A person can stay a maximum of 180 days on this particular tourist visa. 
  • The applicant should have a bank balance of $4,000 (Dh14,700) or its equivalent in foreign currencies in the last six months before applying.

Job Exploration Entry Visa

  • No sponsor or host required.
  • Must be a bachelor’s degree holder or its equivalent, fresh graduate of the best 500 universities in the world as well as classified in the first, second or third skill levels as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization.

Business Entry Visa

  •  Investors and entrepreneurs can apply for a business visa without requiring a sponsor or a host.

Entry Permit To Visit Relatives Or Friends

  • As per the current amendment, a visitor can apply for this visa if he/she is a relative or friend of a UAE citizen or a resident.
  • This does not require a sponsor or a host.

Entry Permit For Study And Training

  • .This visa is aimed at people or students who want to attend training, study courses and internship programmes.
  • This visa can be sponsored by both public and private sector educational and research institutes.
  • It requires a letter from the entity clarifying the details of the study or training or internship programme and its duration.

Temporary Work Visa

Those who have a temporary work assignment, such as probation testing or project-based work, can apply for this visa.
