It’s World Children’s Day Today & They Will Be Taking Over Expo 2020 This Weekend!

This fine Saturday morning, our local youth took over Expo 2020 on stage to reimagine a better future, as the biggest-ever celebration of World Children’s Day took place in Dubai! The children and young adults lent their voices to raise awareness on issues that matter to them including mental health, climate change, education, technology and youth leadership.

In partnership with the UAE Ministry of Community Development and UNICEF, Expo 2020 Dubai organised a line-up of events including inspiring talks and a concert with the amazing Lebanese singer and UNICEF regional ambassador Yara!

Throughout the day, Expo visitors can attend talks and events related to World Children’s Day.

These include performances by acclaimed Lebanese singer Yara – who will wow the crowds with her popular Arabic songs – Mexican trio Vasquez Sounds and the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra.

A Youth Circle, hosted in partnership with the UAE Federal Youth Authority, will drive interactive dialogue among Emirati and global youth representatives to discuss the future for children – including key issues of education, mental health and technology.

From 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Al Wasl Plaza, visitors will also be able to watch the announcement of the Unicef 2021 youth advocates and hear from leading voices in the field of child welfare, including Ted Chaiban, Unicef regional director for the Middle East and North Africa.

The future is here!
