His highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi inaugurates The Holy Quran Academy which is the largest complex dedicated to the Holy Quran and its teaching.
The Holy Quran Academy is home to 7 scientific and historical museums. It houses many artefacts and pictures about Islam and the teachings of it. The museums contains 60 manuscripts distributed over 15 sections each of which contains centuries of events. They also have around 308 copies of the Holy Quran and archaeological manuscripts displayed in the museum. In addition, they also show 18 kiswas, which is a black cloth that covers the Holy Ka’ba in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. There you can even see kiswas dating all the way back from 970.
The museum continues to impress us by also being equipped with the latest technologies to help educate visitors as much as they can with the history of writing. They also have a room that stimulates the cave of Hira with a display screen and audio devices that tell the story of how the revelation of the Holy Quran came to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
However, it is not only a museum to display all these beautiful and meaningful artefacts but also a place for many activities and programs for those interested in the Quranic field.
It definitely is a place that is worth the visit, especially for those who want to learn more about the Islamic teachings and the history behind them.
