Love seeing UAE up there!
Times Higher Education released their list of the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger and five of UAE’s institutions made an appearance on the Young University Rankings 2021, amongst the other 475 universities from around the globe.
This list was based on the same indicators that the World University Rankings have been using to evaluate, however, the criteria was adjusted in a way to give less imprtance to the institutions’ reputations. The criteria used to judge were: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and finally, the institution’s international outlook.
United Arab Emirates University, which is the first and largest academic institution in the UAE, came 53rd followed by the Khalifa University coming right after in 54th position, and of course, our very own local university, The University of Sharjah securing its position at the 177th spot.
Zayed University, which has campuses situated in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai, debuted in the top 250 placing itself alongside the American University of Sharjah, another one of our local university!
Nothing like seeing two of our local unis making it up on the list!
