Meet these incredible UAE-based Engineers who are changing the game in UAE by their latest innovation that was created as part of their project with the Ecothon Innovation Challenge which they won!
The trio, Angela Lopez Blanco, Amna Al Ali and Ruwayya Al Mehrzi, all came together to call a team names ‘The Re.’ team that aimed to develop a more sustainable drinking habit for us and their project idea was so good that Nestle has shown interest in bringing their innovative water bottles to the market. Their other purpose is to redesign and reimagine the future of drinking.
Their first design as Team Re was the ‘On the Go’ bottle that easily folds and fits inside a purse or even a pocket! This is after the trio realised and found out that low-income people usually use reusable bottles and the girls did this in such a way that even though the primary reason may not have been to protect the environment but it is to help save people money from buying new bottles. The bottle is priced at Dhs 123.
Another very cool addition to this is that the bottle cap is designed in such a way that it changes its colour as soon as bacteria in the water is detected.
With the small team in the Ecothon Innovation Challenge, they brought in the brightest ideas and showed their abilities as a team. Well done ladies!
