Tiffany’s are a girl’s bestfriend
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the new faces for Tiffany & Co., and their first campaign is already turning heads. Beyoncé is wearing the 128-carat yellow diamond Tiffany necklace in the campaign. She becomes only the fourth woman to wear this necklace, and the first black woman to do so. The only other women to wear this particular necklace are Mary Newport when it was first debuted, Catherine Hepburn during the ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ press tour, and most recently by Lady Gaga at the 2019 Oscars.
Beyoncé wasn’t the only one turning heads either, Jay-Z upped his game too. He is seen sporting a Givenchy suit along with a pair of cufflinks that were refashioned from ‘A Bird On A Rock’ brooch designed by Jean Schlumberger. He is also wearing one of the new Tiffany’s new engagement rings for men.
It’s quite difficult to upstage Beyoncé and Jay-Z. They are the King and Queen of the music industry, pop culture icons, and all-around badasses. But, you know what could upstage them? Probably the only thing in the world: A never before seen Basquiat painting. Basquiat was the darling of the Harlem Renaissance, and one of the most famous and sought-after contemporary artists. So, to see his painting, ‘Equal Pi’, which has never before been publicly displayed, casually hanging on the wall behind Jay-Z and Beyoncé is stunning, to say the least. The painting is made with Tiffany Blue as one of the main colors, so it fits into this campaign effortlessly.
