Top 8 places You Can Go Snorkeling & Diving in Khorfakkan

F is for friends who do stuff together

Make the best use of these long Eid holidays by doing a fun water sports activity with your family & friends! One of the water activities you can do is snorkeling or diving in Khorfakkan! It’s the perfect activity to battle the summer heat we are all currently going through, so take advantage of the time you have and go submerge yourself with some nice cold water!

Shark Island

Shark Island is famous for snorkelers and divers as their seabed is quite visible which just makes it so beautiful to look at and swim in.

But don’t let the name scare you. 😂 Even though the name is “Shark Island” there has never been a shark attack, so don’t worry. However, if you’re interested, you can most likely spot some blacktip reef sharks on the eastern end of the Island from November to April.

Plus, there will be plenty of small fish and sea turtles to find too, so that would be adorable!

Snoopy Island

The only East Coast shore dive, and a sanctuary for swimmers and snorkelers. There are months when you can walk from the shore to the island without getting wet during low tide.

Crabs seeking for food, anemones, hard and soft corals, and a variety of anemones and hard and soft corals will all be more vibrant with your torch.

Visitors to Snoopy Island can expect to see lionfish, pipefish, nudibranchs, clownfish, morays, shrimp, and other marine life.

Dibba Island

Divers and snorkelers alike flock to this place in search of a guaranteed sighting of friendly turtles. This small rocky Island is home to jaw fish, clown fish, bat fish, and a variety of soft and boulder corals, making it one of the dive spots not to be missed.

Anemone Gardens

This location, which has a depth of more than 20 meters, is best dived using a compass and a dive computer. It’s on Shark Island’s northeastern tip. There are a variety of marine life species, including jacks and young barracudas, as well as hard and soft corals, and your dive will be memorable, especially if you can spot a shy sea horse.

Car Cemetery

A tough dive site that will put your navigation abilities to the test. Because of the limited visibility, it may not be as popular as other dive locations, but you never know what you might uncover if you simply keep going.

Coral Gardens

Advanced and experienced divers are both welcome! This site, which is home to vibrant corals, is ideal for a night dive. Divers might come across strange crocodile fish and guitar sharks. Dandelion corals and green whip corals can also be found here.

Hole in the Wall

Divers will like this dive spot if they can find the hole. The hole is large enough for a diver to swim through comfortably, however you must maintain control of your buoyancy due to the presence of sea urchins at this location. In this area, boxfish, parrot fish, bat fish, and cuttlefish are common.

Martini Rock

Take a look at the most visited site on the East Coast. Martini Rock will provide a memorable experience for divers and snorkelers. Diverse shoals of fish, a rainbow of teddy bear corals, damsels in distress, box fish, rays, pipefish, turtles, fusiliers, nudibranchs, and more give the impression of being in a large aquarium.
