Here’s How Sharjah Will Be Celebrating UAE’s Golden Jubilee

As UAE gears up for its ‘Golden Jubilee’ celebrations, the Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee has announced an 11-day cultural extravaganza to mark the Emirates remarkable 50-year journey dotted with memorable accomplishments!

There is something for all ages and nationalities to do! The festivities will be held across the Sharjah’s key tourist and cultural destinations – Khorfakkan Amphitheatre, Sharjah National Park, Al Majaz Amphitheatre, Al Hisn Island in Dibba Al Hisn, Al Madam Municipality, Al Hamriyah Heritage Village, Kalba Corniche Park, and Al Dhaid Heritage Village. Roaming performances to bring a burst of colour and excitement to Khorfakkan

The inauguration of the 50th National Day celebrations in the Eastern enclave on November 23 will begin with a wide range of activities, including traditional Emirati music and dance shows.

A hot-air balloon, the balloon of the ‘UAE President’, will fly high across the city, while roaming performances by musicians, artists and dancers will turn the streets and squares into theatrical stages. This will surely be something to look out for!

Exciting Musical Evenings By Emirati Artists

The ever-so wonderful Emirati vocalists Fayez Al Saeed, Balqees and Hussain Al Jassmi are all lined up to perform with their own unique magic.

Fayez Al Saeed and Balqees will perform at a joint concert on December 1 at the spectacular Khorfakkan Amphitheatre while on December 3rd, Al Majaz Amphitheatre will be seeing Hussain Al Jassmi entertain the fans in his trademark style, backed by Faisal Al Jasim, Mohammed Al Menhali, and Almas.

Al Hisn Island: Operetta & National March

On November 25, a national march will be held from the city centre to the UAE flagpole situated in Al Hisn Island.

The activities in the eastern town includes an operetta marking the 50th year, and a performance by Omani singer Abdullah Al Wasmi – Visiotrs can also look forward to celebrating the country’s history and accomplishments from all these incredible years.

Celebrate Sharjah’s Marine History With Al Hamriyah Heritage Village

On November 25th, the heritage village of Al Hamriyah will bring Emirati maritime heritage to life through a range of activities, including educational and creative workshops, musical shows and ‘Nabati’ poetry sessions.

Exciting Games & Entertainment At Sharjah National Park

The Sharjah National Park has organised an exciting programme for visitors to enjoy exciting games, entertainment and traditional foods – With more than 20 different events planned, the audience can enjoy tourist tours, folk dances, competitions as well as lucky draws!

This will take place from November 29th – December 3rd.

Poetry and music in Al Madam

Al Madam city is putting up an electrifying show by desiging a programme of musical shows and poetry sessions delivered by prominent artists as well as classical Arabic poets. The audience will also get to compete to win prizes for ‘best video clip about Al Madam’! This will take place on November 25th,

Creative Competitions & Arabic Poetry to Enjoy At Al Dhaid

Al Dhaid city is giving a rare opportunity to explore the beauty of Arabic poetry through a series of Emirati and classical Arabic poetry sessions as well as traditional music shows and competitions from November 29 to December 1.

Classic Car & Bike Show + Fireworks At Kalba Corniche Park

All you classic cars and bike enthusiasts out there can enjoy Kalba Corniche Park’s classic car and bike show on November 26! This event will showcase several rare cars and motorcycles with dazzling fireworks display to follow with. The audience will also get to enjoy Emirati folk songs performed by traditional Ayala performers celebrating the country’s 50 years of accomplishments.

All cultural programmes will be staged across the emirate’s different regions from November 23 to December 3.
