5 Online Games From Our Childhood That Got Lost in Time

When we were kids, i.e., in the ’90s, we had video games. Not the high definition, ultra-realistic stuff we have today, but video games nonetheless. And at the time, we didn’t really care whether they had good graphics or if they were realistic, we just loved playing them. But, as time went on, we stopped playing, and eventually, these games are no more. We’ve searched for them, but to no avail.

Club Penguin

The OG social site. Club Penguin was one of those games, that people first joined to play all the quests and mini-games, but stayed for the community that eventually spawned there. Club Penguin was Club House before Club House was Club House. Did that make sense?

Miniclip

Not exactly a game, Miniclip was a website. Well, it was more of an experience really, with hundreds of games aimed at everyone and anyone who entered the site. But as the world progressed past flash games, so did we. But fret not, Miniclip’s site is still up and running, although most of the games we played as kids are gone.

Road Rash

Road Rash was the first racing game most of us played, and we’re not sure if that’s a good thing or not. The motorcycle racing game had some weird waiting screens with even weirder graphics and let’s not forget about the fact that you could hit the other racers. But despite all this, we still loved playing it.

Facebook Gameroom

Most of us know that Facebook right now has these weird little mini-games things in their messenger app. You can compete against whoever you’re talking to. But, did you know that for a certain time, Facebook actually had a full-on video games section? And we mean real video games, everything from racing games to FPS. And they were all fully rendered and fully functional. Alas, Facebook, in the middle of the night, decided to get rid of them and we’ve never enjoyed Facebook since.

Sims Online

Make a completely virtual world? Sign us up. And now play along with your friends? Oh heck yes. That was why people loved Sims Online so much, the fact that they could play with friends. But once again, the game went offline in 2008 and we’ve felt empty since.

Have you played any of these? Did we miss any old games?
