A round of applause for him!
RAK Hospital, in collaboration with the Ras Al Khaimah Ministry of Health and Prevention, launched the ‘RAK Biggest Weight Loser Challenge.’ The results were announced on March 4th which was the World Obesity Day!
On Friday, the 48-year-old Syrian claimed the 1st place in the RAK Biggest Weight Loser Challenge for the second time.
Mr Dakak was awarded Dh18,000, or Dh500 for every kilogram he lost during the 10-week challenge, after losing 36kg — dropping from 151kg to 115kg.
He started to gain weight again after unfortunately losing his son. But Mr. Dakak then brought himself back up and fought his pain away by gaining back the strength to become healthier again! He followed weekly diet tips, exercise routines, cutting out bread, being more active, attending webinars/seminars hosted by top medical experts and more!
He truly is an inspiration to us all and we couldn’t be prouder!
The other winners also did truly amazing!
- After losing 31.9kg, Hadeel Mohd Ahmed Hasan took first place in the female category. She received a Dh16,000 award.
- Dr. Ferdaus Nalladaroo, the virtual category winner, lost about 27kg
- Alaa Elkhider, the fourth winner, lost 31 kg.
The biggest weight loser challenge was planned so that the 10-week program would begin on December 17, 2021 and end on World Obesity Day. The participants’ weight and BMI were recorded at the start of the challenge, and the final weigh-in was held on March 1 and 2!
