Wohoo!
Great news! Sharjah is celebrating this public holiday by providing free parking in some areas in Sharjah for residents! There of course will also be free parking in Dubai and Abu Dhabi!
The municipality of Sharjah announced on Tuesday that public parking will be free on Thursday, October 21, in honor of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday.
The decision excludes parking zones that charge fees every day of the week, including Fridays and public holidays. Blue parking information signs identify these parking zones.
Members of the public can use the free parking facilities in all areas except Al Hisn Street (Bank complex), Al Shuwaiheen, Al Shoyoukh Corniche Street, Qays Ibn Abi Sa’sa’ah Street, Al Jubail, Central Souq, Al Majaz 1, Corniche Street (Khalid Lagoon area), Majaz 1, Majaz 2, University City Road, and Muwaileh Commercial Area, according to the authority.
Happy Holiday!
