Another One in the Books! UAE Has Its First Driverless Taxi!

Woah!

On Tuesday, the UAE unveiled its first fully autonomous taxi at an event in Abu Dhabi! The TXAI project consists of a range of cars that will be seen on UAE roads later this month for a test. The trial of ride-sharing services will take place on Yas Island!

TXAI, which was announced at the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit, is the capital’s first autonomous driving project to go live on a public road. Bayanat, a geospatial, data analytics, and AI company based in the UAE, is in charge.

In the first phase of the project, five cars will transport passengers between nine stops, which will include hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and offices.

The second phase will include more cars and more locations in Abu Dhabi.

Despite the fact that there will be no driver, a safety officer will sit in the driver’s seat during the trial period.

“We are confident that the technology behind TXAI has the potential to be transferable and successful in other venues, such as public transportation or for law enforcement,”  said Hasan Al Hosani, Bayanat’s chief executive.
