Breaking News: Abu Dhabi Tightens Covid-19 Restrictions at Social Gatherings

The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee announced on Sunday that Covid-19 guidelines for hosting indoor and outdoor social gatherings had been increased.

According to the new regulations:

  1. places hosting social events such as weddings, funerals, and family gatherings must have a maximum occupancy of 60%.
  2. Indoor events can have a total of 50 people, and outdoor events and open-air activities can have a max amount of 150 people.
  3. Home social gatherings should not have more than 30 people.
  4. Entry to social functions also necessitates the use of existing safety precautions, such as displaying a green pass on the Al Hosn App, presenting a negative PCR test result obtained within 48 hours, and wearing masks while maintaining physical distance.
  5. The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee announced that inspection and monitoring will be increased to guarantee adherence with all preventive and precautionary measures to help preserve the emirate’s low Covid-19 infection rate.

The committee urges the citizens to keep taking precautionary measures such as avoiding crowded areas, wearing masks that protect the nose and mouth, practicing physical distance by keeping at least two metres apart, and regularly washing and sanitizing hands.

The committee also encourages those who are eligible to receive a booster vaccine dose and keep their green status on the Al Hosn App by undergoing regular PCR testing.
