Please be safe!
Sharjah Police issued a warning to beachgoers on Saturday not to go to the beaches at this time, urging them to take precautions in light of Tropical Cyclone Shaheen and rising sea levels.
They also warned about the expected weather fluctuations and instability along the emirate’s coasts.
Meanwhile, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) team in Kalba has convened an emergency meeting to discuss ongoing preparations and readiness to deal with Tropical Storm “Shaheen” if it approaches the city’s shores.
The eastern coast was expected to be affected by a Stromsburg on Saturday night, particularly during the period of high tide at low areas.
From Sunday afternoon and evening on October 3rd, some regions of the country will be affected by the extension of the tropical situation, particularly the eastern and southern regions, where convective clouds will be associated with rain of varying intensity, causing flash floods in valleys and torrents and water accumulation in some low-lying areas.
Winds will be gusty to gale-force, causing blowing dust and sand and reducing horizontal visibility, particularly with convective clouds.
The sea state in the Oman Sea will become rough to very rough, allowing seawater to enter the low-lying eastern coastal areas, and the sea will be rough at times northward in the Arabian Gulf.
The NCM stated that it is monitoring the tropical situation around the clock and urged the public to heed official reports, instructions, and warnings from the appropriate authorities.
So please try to stay at home as much as you can and avoid the beaches and any risky areas!
Stay home & stay safe!
