In the next two weeks, Dubai drivers will be able to pay their parking tickets via the social media app WhatsApp, according to a senior official.
According to Ahmed Mahboub, executive director of parking at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this new payment method is currently being tested internally and will be rolled out in less than two weeks.
Motorists will not have to pay the 30 fils that they pay to UAE telecom service providers when paying for parking tickets via SMS if they use WhatsApp.
He also mentioned that the RTA has improved its smart map, which aids in locating the exact location of the parking ticket.
