How is 2021 already over?
The UAE government released a statement declaring an official New Years holiday day off on Saturday, January 1st, 2022!

December 31st falls on a Friday and since it’s still technically 2021, it will be an official holiday weekend for the whole of UAE right before the Emirates transition into a four-and-a-half-day working week from January 1st, 2022, which means Saturday and Sunday will be our new weekend from now onwards.
January 2nd, Sunday will be the third holiday to end the weekend.
