A new parking system was introduced in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah by the Khor Fakkan Municipality on Thursday, August 4, and will be effective starting August 15th, Monday.
The timings of paid parking on Sheikh Khaled Street will be from 08:00 AM to 10:00 PM, except Friday, which is free of charge. On Corniche Street, Shees Park and Al Rafisah Dam, it will be from am to 10:00PM all days of the week.
The tariff rates for parking:
- 1 hour: Dh2
- 2 hours: Dh5
- 3 hours: Dh8
- 5 hours: Dh12
The authority also announced that Sharjah citizens of 60 years or above will be able to use the parking spaces free of charge.
The Municipality said that in order to avail this facility, the senior citizens must submit certain documents. These include:
1. Emirates ID
2. Proof of ownership of the car
3. Registration summary
The documents may be submitted either online via the Khor Fakkan Municipality website here or in person at the headquarters in the Al Mudifi area in Khor Fakkan.
