New month, new rules
Covid-19 is still existing which means we still need to be careful and protect ourselves and our loved ones. However, thankfully, the Covid-19 cases have been decreasing in the UAE, so the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management (NCEMA) have announced new relaxed rules on August 8.
Vaccination and PCR tests mandatory for some events
The ‘green pass’ approach has also been pushed to be used by establishments around the country to enable entrance to specific events. The ‘green pass’ is on AlHosn App which is a color-coding system that displays a person’s vaccination status.
- Only fully vaccinated individuals can be allowed to participate in events or any activity. The second dose must have been taken no longer than 6 months prior to the event.
- A negative PCR result must also be shown before entering the event or participating in an activity.
Operating Capacity
- Cafes, restaurants and shopping malls can now have people at 80% capacity
- Restaurants can now seat up to 10 people at a table, however masks should still be worn when away from the table
- Hotels can go back to operating at full capacity
- Galleries, cinemas and recreational facilities can have people at 80% capacity
- Events can host people for up to 60% capacity
- Wedding and event halls can also host up to 60% capacity, with only maximum of 300 people invited.
- Public transportation will operate at 75% with masks still being worn when using the public transportation.
That’s all for now! Make sure to still always keep your masks on and maintain social distancing!
Stay safe!
