Sharjah Municipality announced the new tariff on Instagram, stating that parking spaces in the Al Mamzar Corniche Street and Al Khan areas will be paid beginning February 14.
Furthermore, parking fees will be imposed on all days of the week, including Fridays and holidays.
The move, according to Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazien, Director of the Public Parking Department, Sharjah Municipality, will reduce the utilisation of parking spaces. Many people abandon and abandon their vehicles for extended periods of time. This, he claims, distorts the emirate’s appearance.
It is also part of the authorities’ annual plans to add public parking spaces in all areas of the city and charge fees for them. This, in turn, will make it easier for residents and visitors to find parking spaces.
So be careful to read the signs when you park!
