What a great initiative!
Sharjah Municipality is providing free firewood to Emiratis in order to prevent the cutting down of trees. Usually, the logs are used for campsites in the desert or on UAE farms!
According to authority, the initiative, titled ‘Your Firewood Is On Us,’ will help protect the environment!
This will be especially important for the winter season we are in now as more people will be going to the desert for camping or bonfire nights! So, the Sharjah Municipality have decided to provide free wood to whoever is in need of them!
All you have to do is pre-book through the Municipality’s communication channels and show a valid Emirates ID when you’re going to collect the wood. However, only one load is allowed per customer and you should have either a light pickup or a small trailer to pick up the wood.
This initiative starts today from 7 am to 4 pm until the resources last! You can contact the municipality on WhatsApp 06-5162455. Make sure you send your Emirates ID and Passport Copy when you want to book!
