Sharjah Makes Negative PCR Tests Compulsory For Students & Teachers To Return Back To School

Winter break is slowly closing in and with everyone back to school by next week, authorities in Sharjah have announced new in-person learning safety measures to be taken in line with Covid-19 this new term.

The announcement came as UAE authorities announced that classes in educational institutions would go online for the first two weeks of the second semester. In the UAE, each Emirate has its own disaster management committee that formulates crisis plans at the local level and so did Sharjah.

Staff and students aged over 12 will need to present a negative result of a Covid test taken no more than 96 hours prior to the resumption of classes.

Sharjah Private Education Authority also announced that all extracurricular activities, morning assembly and school trips will remain “suspended until further notice”.

The in-person learning will pick up from January 3rd, 2022.

Stay Safe Sharjah!
