Stay Safe Everyone! Avoid Beaches & Construction Sites As Strong Winds & Rough Sea Warnings Are Issued!

Officials have warned people for strong winds, rough seas, and poor visibility as temperature falls across the UAE today. Wind speeds are expected to exceed 55km/hr, with waves reaching a height of 10 feet, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Ras Al Khaimah Police issued a warning to the public on Friday to keep from going to beaches and to be cautious of strong winds while driving. Officials also asked the community to stay away from construction sites for their own safety.

Authorities also issued dust alerts across the country on Friday, warning of reduced horizontal visibility. The Ras Al Khaimah Police Department advised motorists to avoid sand dunes on open highways because light and moderate winds blow large amounts of dust and sand on roads.

The NCM issued an orange alert for several eastern areas and a yellow alert for the rest of the UAE until 4 p.m.

Residents in orange alert areas are urged to exercise caution because hazardous weather events are expected in their areas. Meanwhile, those in yellow-alert areas must exercise caution when engaging in outdoor activities.

Stay safe everyone!
