Following the suspension of its activities due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Khorfakkan Municipal Council reopened the monthly Friday market for sheep and birds, contributing to the market’s reopening to begin welcoming the public again in accordance with precautionary measures to preserve public health.
The Khorfakkan Municipal Council is looking into expanding the market’s activities to include domestic goods and products that meet the needs of the city’s citizens and residents.
In response, Mohamed Al Jawhari, Chairman of the Environment Committee in the Council and Chairman of the Market Organising Committee, announced the resumption of market activity on Friday, with a remarkable turnout from the public following a seven-month hiatus, in accordance with precautionary and preventive measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
