The expo delivery authority issued new Covid-19 guidelines for visitors to the event on Wednesday, ahead of its October 1 opening. Visitors must show proof of any vaccine recognized by their own national government or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours.

But don’t worry, if you’re non-vaccinated and have not been tested within 72 hours you can still get a PCR test at Expo 2020’s on-site, PCR-testing lab. A network of testing facilities will also be available on the Expo 2020 website, and will be free of charge to ticket holders of the Expo 1-Day or Multi-Day Pass.

This will be the largest global gathering since the Covid-19 pandemic began. There will be more than 190 country pavilions, as well as themed exhibitions at the Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability pavilions. There will also be 200 dining venues and up to 60 shows a day at the eagerly-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai.

“By updating our vaccination and testing requirements, we are opening up a world of discovery and education for every visitor from every corner of the planet, enabling the world to experience Expo 2020’s incredible offering in a safe and secure manner,” said Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation and director general of Expo 2020.

“As we prepare to welcome tourists to the UAE and visitors to Expo 2020, we need to build on our successes in combating Covid-19, where we have seen a decline of nearly 84 per cent in cases in the past eight months.”
