Saudi Arabia will also withdraw social distancing measures in the Grand Holy Mosque, the Prophet’s Holy Mosque, and mosques, while proceeding to wear masks inside these places, and will also lift social distancing measures in all open and closed places, activities, and events, according to the statement.

The official went on to say that while people will not be asked to wear masks in open areas, they will be required to wear masks in closed areas.

Furthermore, passengers arriving in the Kingdom will no longer be needed to present PCR or rapid antigen test results, while those arriving on visit visas will be requested to have medical insurance to cover any Covid-19 treatment costs involved during their stay.

Institutional and domestic quarantine measures for arriving passengers in the Kingdom have also been lifted.

The ministry also lifted the ban on direct flights to the Kingdom as well as all flights arriving and departing from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, Comoros, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Afghanistan.

The Kingdom’s decision for this is due to the decrease of Covid-19 infections and better improved health of residents residing in the country. However, residents are still urged to take the booster shot and to keep themselves safe!
