Here’s How Sharjah’s Aquarium is Playing Its Part in Preserving The Marine Ecosystem ❤️

Healing the world one step at a time

Sharjah Aquarium is the first and largest government educational centre in the whole of UAE, fighting and raising awareness on the importance of protecting and conserving the marine ecosystem.

The aquarium is home to around 100 diverse marine species including, sea rays, delicate seahorses, clownfish and more, coming in all sorts of shapes and forms and surrounded by the mesmerizing coral reefs and rocky shores to swimming around the lagoons and mangroves

This gives you a chance to wander through the corridors of the aquarium and its 21 basins, to explore and have a more in-depth close up of the species along with learning their history.

When we talk about how Sharjah Aquarium is playing its part to help preserve and protect the ecosystem, they have a rehabilitation program for turtles where the husbandry team collects and receives sick or injured sea turtles, nursing them back to health and eventually releasing them into their natural habitat.

And as a way for the public to learn the importance and value of preserving marine attractions, Sharjah Museums Authority organizes an annual marine environment clean-up campaign. By doing this they also aim to spread awareness on the dangers marine pollution causes and the consequences the marine ecosystem has to face from the irresponsible behaviour of some individuals.

If you are willing to visit the Aquarium, here are more details on the place:
