DhabiSat was designed and built by students at Yahsat Space Lab, which is a part of Khalifa University. This satellite made it possible for students to design, implement and test software modules for attitude determination and control subsystems (ADCS) as well as record data to support any future CubeSat missions. The miniature satellite is also the second CubeSat designed and built by Khalifa University students, the first one, MySat-1, being deployed in February 2019.
The launch supports the UAE’s mission to develop homegrown talent to lead the National Space Programme. KU’s first CubeSat, MySat-1, was launched in February 2019, followed by MeznSat in 2020.

More research is being carried out apart from this – the students are also testing new Lithium Ion batteries in space, and it was manufactured at Khalifa University’s Masdar Institute laboratories.
This is a massive milestone for the students from Khalifa University and for UAE, we can not wait to see what the future holds for them. Good Luck!
