Race Away At The Aquaathlon This Friday in Sharjah, Al Hamriya Beach!

Yo…that actually sounds pretty lit!

Sharjah Sports Council has opened registration for its new event “Aquathlon Hamriya_Sharjah”, which will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 in cooperation with Al Qudra Sports Services Company and a number of sponsors and supporters.

The event is being hosted as part of the Council’s efforts to confirm the status of sport in the emirate, in accordance with His Highness’ aspirations and directions. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council Family Affairs.

His Excellency Issa Hilal urged all interested parties, including sports fans in general and runners and swimmers, to register and participate in the event, citing the enormous turnout at prior events as a factor in its success and distinction.

In addition, Mr. Mohammed Ali bin Hammad, the director of sports and community events, explained: “The Aquathlon is one of the complex races recognized by the International Triathlon Federation, where the event begins with swimming and ends with running, with no fewer than 200 participants of both sexes from the citizen, men and women, and open categories.”

The race contains two distances, with the first sprint starting at 6:15 a.m. and the second distance super sprint starting at 6:20 a.m. The awarding ceremony for the winners will begin at 7:30 a.m., and each participant will receive a medal. The race has come to a close, with gold, silver, and bronze medals being awarded to the winners of the various racing categories.
