5 Things To Do This Weekend in Sharjah: July 29-31

The last weekend of July is HERE!

As the sun in Sharjah is soon planning on landing on earth (jokes), this is solely judging by how INSANELY hot its getting these days and we think most of us would rather just stay in somewhere cool and chill. So, we have put together a few places for you to take it easy at this weekend and enjoy your time with your family and friends!

Sharjah Art Foundation

The art foundation is organising a workshop called ‘Drawing Plants’, just for children! It will be held in the Collections Building, Arts Square and its on this Saturday, July 31st, between 11 am and 1 pm.

This workshop will introduce them to life drawing where a variety of plants in differently shaped pots will be placed in front of them and asked to sketch the plants out. The children will also get to paint the plants later on.

If you are a parent dropping your child off at this workshop and looking for something to do in the meanwhile, Sharjah Art Foundation is displaying incredible work of very talented and inspiring local, regional and international artists. So, its the perfect chance for you to get some quiet time to enjoy the beauty of art that you don’t get to in your day to day life. Click HERE to find out more about the exhibitions

This is our fave part! Zawaya Walk have their own billiards place for your to come hangout with your friends and have enjoy some good cafes they have available including Nostalgia, Dark Door Speciality Coffee, Starbucks, ICONS and more! They even have Baskin Robbins if you’re feeling a bit cheeky with your cheat day 🙂

It’s an all around good place to chill and relax but also work too if you’re willing to, at Starbucks!

Iceskating to cool off!

The best way to beat the summer heat is to spend the day at the ice-rink in Shaab Village! It is the largest public ice rink in Sharjah open to all ages. It operates in sessions with every session lasting for an hour and a half. They are open every day from 10 AM – 11 PM with an entree fee of 50 AED. So check them out to have a cooling fun experience!

Make sure to stay safe during the weekend and to put sunscreen on coz oh boy do we not wanna get burned from this heat!
