Here’s Your Travel Checklist For Summer 2021!

If you’re planning to travel this summer from Dubai, UAE, we have covered all the info you need to know before you book your flight to your destination. Please make sure to double-check, as the rules may change every few days.

Before you book, do check whether you need a visa for the country you are travelling to

Depending on your nationality, you can either get your visa on arrival or you will have to apply for it before your flight, through Dubai Immigration.

Check if Covid-19 PCR tests are mandatory to the country you are travelling to

Check the requirements of your destination, keep in mind that the rules change very frequently so you may need to take a PCR test before your departure.

You will also need to check if your destination requires any other form of Covid-19 test. For example, cities like Amsterdam and Copenhagen, require the results (negative) of the rapid Covid-19 test certificate before you board your flight. Include the prices of the Covid-19 tests in your budget for the trip

Managing your budget for your trip is one of the key ingredients to a good, stress-free trip. So, do spend wisely and be sure to check the prices of the Covid-19 tests to be carried out before or at the airport.

From February 14th, 2021, the rapid Covid-19 testing will cost AED 150 excluding the taxes, at Dubai Airport’s facilities.

This is a good one for those planning to travel through Emirates – You will be offered exclusive home/office Covid-19 PCR testing rates at the following centres:


Al Tadawi Medical Centre
– Located at Al Masood building, Airport Road, Port Saeed area, Deira.
-The test costs AED 130 per person. Home or office testing within Dubai costs AED 240 per person. Test results will be available within 24 hours.

Prime Medical Centre
– Here are the locations in Dubai:

  • Al Qusais Branch, Damascus Street
  • Premier Diagnostic and Medical Center, Salah Al Din Street 
  • Prime Corp Medical Center, Salah Al Din Street, Deira
  • Sheikh Zayed Branch, Sheikh Zayed Street, near Noor Islamic Bank
  • Prime Specialist Medical Center Sharjah Branch, King Faisal St, Al Majaz
  • Ajman Branch, Grand Mall, Sheikh Khalifa St

– The test costs AED 150 per person. Home/office testing within Dubai for a minimum of two passengers is also available at AED 240 per person. Test results should be available within 24 hours.

Arrive early at the airport

The times we get frustrated as our parents arrive hours early to the airport, at times like this and especially during a pandemic, it’s best to arrive early. As early as 4 hours before the boarding is good enough, to get your bags checked in and get your PCR tests done at the airport’s testing facility.

Travelling from Dubai to Abu Dhabi

Requirements of travelling to Abu Dhabi is different and their protocols need to be followed and respected at all times, throughout your trip

Home quarantine will be required from July 5th and mandatory Covid-19 testing will be conducted for both vaccinated and non-vaccinated folks, whether you’re a UAE citizen, a resident or a visitor, you will not be exempt from this. More details of this can be read here.

If you are a UAE citizen/resident and fully vaccinated for 28 days or more, make sure to download Alhosn app, in case you need to show evidence of the Covid-19 vaccination.

Be extra careful during your flights, carry extra masks and sanitisers, double-check your documents before leaving for the airport, and respect all protocols throughout your journey and at your destination.
