A New High-Speed Sky Pod Travelling at 600 KM/HR Has Been Revealed in Sharjah

The longest test track was developed in Minsk, Belarus of only 800 metres and travelled at a speed of 108kph; However, Sharjah Innovation and Technology Park have now unveiled Dh 51 million worth of research testing on a 20KM test track, high-speed passenger pods for the residents in UAE, travelling on 600 km/hr!

A test track is in the process of running sky pods with the help of an international engineering company in Belarus called Unitsky String Technology, which they’ve designed high-speed passenger pods suspending on a track above the desert in Sharjah as a working model to show the potential for string-rail transport.

The pods have gone through immense and successful wind-tunnel tests, with designers saying they have full confidence that a longer track would allow for the further progress of the technology.

With a map released by Dubai Media Office last year, it displayed an aerial overview of the link between Al Wasl and Business Bay, extending to cover Dubai International Financial Centre, Bay Avenue, Marasi Drive, City Walk and the Coca-Cola Arena.

Can’t wait to see the progress within the next few years!
