Sharjah Art Foundation’s annual film festival is coming up in October and they’ve started accepting applications for their scriptwriting competition, which is open to all Arabic scriptwriters and directors!
The winning entry will not only get to turn their script into a reality with a feature film but will also be awarded Dh200,000!
After the 10 shortlisted finalists have been decided, they will be invited to the Pitching Forum, the professional script development training, during the Sharjah Film Platform in October – This is where the finalists will then pitch their script to a panel of industry judges at a live event, one of which winning scriptwriter will be selected to receive the prize.
Entry Requirement:
This competition is open to all nationalities that are UAE residents, who have written an original Arabic-language feature-film script all by themselves!
If the scriptwriter is also a director, then they must have at least one directorial credit achieved previously, either a short film or feature film will be acceptable.
Alternatively, if the applicant is a scriptwriter who does not direct, they must have a director attached to the project who’s committed to helm the film.
The full or completed draft of the script must be at least 75 pages long.
Scripts cannot be translated by a third party.
