The UAE is a country that prides itself on being welcoming to people from all over the world. This is especially true for expatriates, who make up a significant portion of the country’s population. In recent years, the UAE has introduced various programs and initiatives to make it easier for expats to live and work in the country. The UAE Digital Government urges retired expats over the age of 55 to apply for a 5-year residence visa that has a renewable option if they meet all the requirements.
The eligibility requirements for this particular sort of visa available to retired expats have been laid out by the UAE Digital Government. An applicant for this visa must meet at least one of the requirements listed below:
- Either 55 years of age or older at the time of retirement, or have worked for at least 15 years both inside and outside the UAE.
- Possess a property or properties worth at least AED 1 million, have financial reserves of at least AED 1 million, or earn AED 20,000 per month (AED 15,000 per month in Dubai) and present a bank statement for the previous six months.
Retirees can renew this visa every 5 years if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements!
From offering long-term residency visas to providing access to world-class healthcare and education, the UAE is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all who call it home. Click here for more information on this five-year visa!
