Check it out!
Previously, Iftar tents have been used by many people especially mosques and charity associations across the country to feed people during their breaking of the fast. However, these tents were banned when covid-19 infections increased across the country. But now…they’re allowed again with some conditions!
- The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Monday that permits are required to set up the tents. Permits must be obtained from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and authorities in each Emirate can determine the location and maximum capacity of the tents, according to the NCEMA.
- Everyone inside should maintain a minimum distance of one metre between one another.
- Iftar tents should be arranged in the form of a canopy that is open on all sides or be air-conditioned, according to the protocol.
- They will begin accepting fasting Muslims two hours before Iftar.
- To organize the entry / exit process, security guards or volunteers must be positioned.
- Posters with safety protocols must also be easily accessible at all entrances and exits.
- When greeting one another, individuals must refrain from handshakes
- Single-use tablecloths are mandatory.
- It is recommended for the hosts to provide disposable spoons, plates and cups
- Masks are mandatory unless when eating or drinking
These can be subject to change if anything else is altered! But for now, these are the rules for having an iftar tent!
