From stage shows, stunts, workshops, film screening to watersports, treasure hunts and so much more, it’s safe to say the first-ever Sharjah Events Festival was a success!
The free-to-attend festival kept their visitors entertained by offering a variety of events and things to do that pulled the crowds to Al Majaz Amphitheatre on Friday and Saturday – The line-up of events that are planned for 2022 have already been announced in Sharjah by 25 government and private entities, we absolutely can’t wait for the next edition!
To get you even more pumped up for the upcoming Sharjah Events Festival, we want to show you all that went down last weekend, scroll down to check it out:
Al Majaz Amphitheatre
Al Majaz Amphitheatre, set on an island in Khalid Lagoon, was decked in colourful lights with a carnival-like theme.
Watersports
A team of marine enthusiasts charged out of the tranquil waters of the Khalid Lagoon surrounding the astonishing Al Majaz Amphitheater – Led by professionals from the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club put up a fast-paced show of adventure water sports.
Magic Swing
A steel wing offered an experience swinging through sheets of pouring water without getting wet – This worked as the waterfall moved apart when visitors swung through the air.
If you understood the inspiration behind this, then well done! The ‘Sharjah Swing’ was inspired by the Rain Room also located in Sharjah – It is a unique modern art installation in the emirate that allows visitors to walk through the downpour without getting wet!
Treasure Hunts
Treasure hunt games at the festival, nothing better to keep the kids busy with!
Film Screenings
The Amphitheatre transformed their lawns into an outdoor movie theatre setting.
Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children chose the movies for the screening to represent the diverse genres of shorts and animation films.
Children Workshops
Participants at an illustration workshop were hosted by Sharjah Book Authority were encouraged to use and run wild with their imaginations.
Stationary Cycle Races
Young visitors participated to race against each other on stationary cycles.
With their feet firm on the pedals, participants tested the muscle and pedal power against each other by looking at the lights on three pillars on each side of the entrance of the Amphitheatre rose and fell depending on the power generated by the cyclists.
We’re Already Looking Forward To The Next One!
