Unstoppable!
Almost a year ago, a contemporary British artist took over a ballroom in Atlantis, The Palm hotel to go on and create the world’s largest canvas painting in Dubai with 1,065 paintbrushes and 6,300 litres of paint – The artwork was then recognised as ‘The Largest Art Canvas’ in the Guinness World Records book!
This is none other than the internationally acclaimed artist, Sacha Jafri, who is now going on a new mission to land his artwork on the moon – The first official art mission in history!
The artwork which is a continuation of his Charitable Journey, titled ‘We Rise Together – with the Light of the Moon’, was created using an aerospace-grade aluminium gold plate that is not only resilient to lunar conditions but also everlasting.
This is where a UAE-based company called Selenian, specialising in the curation of art in space, stepped in to help Jafri’s vision come to life as they partnered up with Spacebit, Astrobotic in association with NASA CLPS.
In addition to the moon mission, there will be a five-series Charitable NFT Collection launching to commemorate each stage of the mission — from the rocket launch entering the stratosphere, the Earth circumnavigation, the Moon sling-shot, the Moon landing, and the legacy of the permanent artwork on the lunar surface.
The painting is due to be unveiled at a press conference in Dubai, UAE next week and is expected to feature 88 unique hearts.
We do have a date for the launch! The art mission is scheduled for June 22 🥳
