Film fans can hear about the thinking behind the camera at Sharjah Art Foundation’s upcoming Director in Focus masterclass with Abderrahmane Sissako.
Save the date and venue
The session is announced for 7 November 2026, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, at Gallery 4, Al Mureijah Square. Sissako will discuss storytelling, cinema’s relationship with society and lessons from more than three decades of filmmaking.
The event forms part of Sharjah Film Platform 9, whose Director in Focus programme also includes Timbuktu, Bamako and Black Tea.
Before making plans
The announcement places the masterclass before a screening of Timbuktu. Check the Foundation’s current programme for admission, language and booking arrangements for each; do not assume a masterclass place includes the film.
