Young visitors who enjoy making food have two evening sessions to choose from at Sharjah International Book Fair. An ube drink workshop takes place on 7 November 2026, followed by a transparent cake workshop on 8 November.
Both are for ages 11–17, cost AED30 per session and run from 7pm to 8pm in Hall 7’s Creative Culinary District.
7 November: Make an ube drink
Ube is purple yam. The Ube Drink session teaches participants to prepare a creamy drink and balance its sweetness and flavour. It is a chance to try an ingredient they may have seen on a menu and learn how it works in a drink.
8 November: Explore cake layers and presentation
The Transparent Cake workshop focuses on layering and presentation to create a translucent appearance. Participants explore how flavours and textures work together, alongside the visual side of making a dessert.
Plan an evening around the session
Choose the workshop that suits your child’s interests and use its official page for reservation details. If your child has a food allergy, ask the organiser about ingredients before booking.
The one-hour format leaves room for book browsing earlier in the day. Our Sharjah International Book Fair visitor guide covers the venue and fair dates.
