If you want time and guidance to work on a sewing project, Al Madam Art Centre is running a free sewing and embroidery open studio until 26 November 2026.
Sessions take place Monday to Thursday, 10 am to 3 pm. The programme is for ages 15 and above, in English and Arabic, with materials provided.
Work on a project of your choice
Sharjah Art Foundation lists hand sewing, different stitches, simple embroidery, fabric treatment and embellishment among the techniques covered. Experienced practitioners can help participants develop their ideas and work towards finishing a piece.
That makes the studio useful if you want to practise a particular stitch or move an idea beyond a sketch. You can focus on your own project while getting guidance along the way.
